Omar Votes More Conservative than Stefanik

If you are patriotic and conservative you wouldn’t think of Somalia-born Minnesota Congress member Ilhan Omar in that same demographic. She appears to hate American ideals and wants all Jews dead.

However, the Club for Growth gave her a lifetime 38% conservative voting rating. John Garamendi (Dist 3), the liberal Congressman for Yuba-Sutter Counties was rated at just 6%. Congressman Doug LaMalfa (Dist 1) serving to the north of these two counties received a 73% score.

Ilhan Omar’s name came up in a Blaze Media article about the choice of New York’s Elise Stefanik (35%) over Chip Roy (100%) from Texas to replace Wyoming’s Liz Cheney (65%) as Chairwoman of the House Republican Conference or the No. 3 spot for the conservative party.

If you did not appreciate the charade, lies and fraud permeating the hoaxes and undermining of President Trump, Stefanik stood out in the hearings as feisty, passionate and a defender of the president. Trump was solidly in Stefanik’s corner in the recent secret vote and issued a public endorsement.

"Can't imagine Republican House Members would go with Chip Roy—he has not done a great job, and will probably be successfully ‘primaried’ in his own district. I support Elise, by far, over Chip!"

Stefanik won easily (134-46) but the Club for Growth had urged conservatives “to support Rep. Chip Roy for the next U.S. House Republican Conference Chair. The choice is simple — Roy is a proven and principled conservative while Rep. Elise Stefanik has a long record that includes supporting big government spending and opposing Trump's tax cuts. It's time for a real conservative with a record like Roy's to serve in leadership to fight Biden and the socialist Democrats and take back the House in 2022.”

So, what happened? As ‘TheBlaze’ reported, Roy voted 90% of the time in favor of Trump's positions, compared to Cheney's 65% and Stefanik's 35%.

And, unlike Cheney, Roy voted against impeaching Trump, but he condemned Trump for the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol and urged his fellow members from the House floor not to give in to demands to throw out Electoral College votes from some states as Trump wanted.

Cheney is an anti-Trumper. Stefanik was fiercely loyal to Trump. And Roy wobbled in the showdown at the Capitol and with the election fraud. No one is suggesting Omar likes Trump or supported him. However, she out-shined Stefanik in legislative votes, which in itself is shocking.

It also is startling that in conservative-leaning Yuba-Sutter we would approve of Omar’s voting more often than Garamendi’s. Garamendi is 94% anti-conservative.

During the last redistricting District 3 became most of the Sacramento Valley north and west of Sacramento. It includes all of Colusa, Sutter and Yuba Counties, most of Glenn, Lake, Solano and Yolo Counties and a portion of Sacramento County. That is a much more left -leaning population than the old District 3 due to including Sacramento, Yolo, and Solano alone.

Tamika Hamilton, Air Force veteran, wife of a police officer, and mother of four is running against Garamendi for the second time. She lives in Dixon.

In a June 10, 2020 California Globe article Hamilton noted that the Republican Party in California had only 7 Congressional seats out of 53. “That is shameful,” Hamilton said. “I ruffle people’s feathers,” she said. “We are missing an opportunity to connect with people.”

Hamilton said the Republican Purity test is silly. “Originally they thought I was a Democrat mole, because I’m black,” she said. “Republicans say they want minorities to run, but then they try to change you. As a Party, we need to position ourselves differently. We need all kinds of people to work.”

“I’m a woman, a veteran, an African American.” But Hamilton said prior to her first run, powerful Republicans tried to table her vote for endorsement. She said she received a lot of pushback from Republican leadership. However, she eventually received the state GOP backing at least on paper. California GOP needs no opposition to lose.

If elected she will get higher conservative ratings than many GOP representatives. New York Times best-selling author and sought-after speaker Dinesh D’Souza will be at Church of Glad Tidings, Yuba City, July 3 for a Hamilton fundraiser starting at 2PM. Get tickets at Votetamika.org.
